3 Predictions for Video Marketing in 2016
We’ve opined previously how far video marketing has come in 2015, but where will the field be in 2016? While global financial markets are rather bearish these days, the market for video is poised for a bull run this year and well into the future.
Advertisers Will Trend towards Online Video
For decades TV has been a significant part of advertising budgets for large firms. For the last few years, however, television has been steadily declining in viewership with the rise of internet based platforms – known as “over the top” solutions – such as Netflix and YouTube. AOL reports that half of advertisers are beginning to shift much of their budgets towards online video. This is the first time such a vast amount of marketers will have switched such major amounts of money to online video marketing, and certainly it will not be the last in this new age of digital video and marketing.
B2B Firms Will Use More Video Marketing
ReelSEO has recently released information that 96% of B2B companies are now using video in their content marketing strategy. Competition from firms utilizing video has grown so large that nearly everyone has become involved in the trending digital marketing technique. The sheer amount of participation highlights the incredible effectiveness that video marketing has had in the field thus far, and is a clear indication of future success.
Video Is Well On Its Way to 80% of Internet Traffic by 2019
Video had already comprised 64% of all internet traffic by 2014. Cisco published in May that internet traffic will increase to 80% of all internet traffic by 2019. That’s more than two zettabytes of data, a new milestone in human history, and well over half of it will be video! This is an extraordinary opportunity for B2B marketers to capitalize on video marketing for their business, and many of them will do so for years to come.
